We are all thankful for our pets and often consider them to be part of our family. As such, it might be tempting to share a little of our Thanksgiving feast with them. Unfortunately, a number of our favorite dishes can cause upset stomachs or worse for pets.
Foods to Avoid Sharing with your Pets:
Be sure to properly dispose of used aluminum foil and plastic wrap, and keep an eye on decorations, which can also be tempting hazards for your pets.
Pet-Safe Thanksgiving Leftovers:
If you just can’t resist sharing a little of the feast with your furry friends, the below items are safe in small quantities. Stuff some of these into a KONG and your dog will be so entertained, they’ll forget to beg.
- steamed green beans
- mashed sweet potato
- gravy, free of onions, spices, and herbs
If you find that fluffy has gotten into something that doesn’t agree with her, you can find lots of available options to treat an upset tummy here.
Wishing you a safe and happy Thanksgiving, from the Jeffers family to yours!
